Pierre and Becca are dear friends of mine. I have had the joy of photographing their growing family for a few years now, and this shoot is BIG! We have been praying for this little one.
Pierre and Becca have had to deal with infertility and have decided to grow their family through embryo adoption. And now, although not without struggle, they have two little "snowflake" babies. Olivia Capri, 4 years old, is big sister to Micah Everly, now almost 2 months old.
Becca and Pierre have shared openly their story and their lives with many.
"Embryo adoption and donation is when couples who have undergone IVF have remaining embryos (after their family is completed) that they give to couples struggling with infertility." Becca says, "Finding out about embryo adoption was a source of hope for us. We wanted a family, and after the initial heartbreak and shock of not being able to have biological children, we wanted to pursue other options. Honestly, we were open to any route of adoption, but deep in my heart I longed to carry my baby. Embryo adoption gave us that opportunity."
Becca says, "The hardest part for me was the wait to be matched. But man, how God shapes us during the wait! I say it all the time but I wouldn't change a single thing about our story and our family. It brought Pierre and I closer as a couple and closer to God."
"There is something about infertility that gives you so much thankfulness for your babies. And so much thankfulness for our donors. It is such a selfless act to donate your embryos for others. The blessing of our daughters will never be lost on us."
So, please, take your time, and celebrate this little miracle with the Lucius family.
